CPR Training – Hands only
Hands-only CPR for high school age students is the most effective method to keep blood flowing to the essential organs in the body while awaiting emergency medical personnel. With effective training, there are many methods to ensure that the chest compressions are maintained at 120-140 beats per minute. That may seem like a lot, but through training, help from other responders, and fast response, the student being helped will have the best chance of survival.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
How to use AED?
What is an AED?
AED is short for Automated Electronic Defibrillator. The AED does not restart the heart. The AED provides a strong electrical shock that will hopefully convert the erratic heart rhythm that is not effectively delivering blood through the heart back to the body to a rhythm that can.
Shocking the patient
The AED systems are smart systems. They can demonstrate the rhythm and determine whether the patient needs to be shocked or not. A shock cannot be made without the AED supporting the need for intervention.
