Heartbeat of Champions (HOC)

Our purpose is to increase awareness within families, communities, schools and high school students about Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) through education, healthcare screenings and being prepared. By donating Automated Electronic Defibrillators (AEDs) to high schools that cannot afford them, HOC hopes to provide lifesaving medical equipment that can give stricken SCA victims at least a chance between life and death. Utilizing the data collected from the screenings, HOC hopes to improve screening methodology and detection for sudden cardiac arrest signs and symptoms.

Heartbeat of Champions Foundation is an exempt organization as described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code
(Tax ID #: 83-1486915).

Mission Statement

To increase awareness and prevention of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) within families, communities, schools and Student-Athletes through education, healthcare screenings as well as donating automatic electronic defibrillators to schools that cannot afford them.

Vision Statement

A world in which families and their teenage children will have access to CPR/AED education, training and convenient low-cost cardiac screening services for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) through communities, schools and healthcare systems to detect and prevent SCA.

Values

Communication

Communication is an incredible value that means more than words can say. Effective communication of the message that HOC spreads to teach and train CPR, learn how to use an AED, and screen our kids for SCA really does mean an unnecessary possible death and the fulfillment of life.

Teamwork

Without our students, parents, families, schools, educators, medical personnel and healthcare professionals working together, our mission to teach CPR and how to use AEDs, screen high school students would be compromised.

Community

Our community is in need for CPR education and high school student screenings for SCA. SCA is the leading cause of death for high school students. Our community can make a difference.

Responsibility

It is the responsibility of all of us to be adequately trained to make an impact on our children. Without our hearts being in the right place, the direct impact on our society will be devastating

Partnership

The Partnership that HOC will have with community leaders, professional sports teams, public/private physicians and hospitals, high schools, and those most affected, our children and parents, needs to be seen and heard as a single voice with the same goals.

Individuality

There is room for individuality in this cause. Singularly, the high school students affected by SCA without the assistance of their peers is a shame. However, if the individual goal to learn CPR and how to use an AED, those affected are never alone.

Empowerment

By providing the tools for the community to learn CPR and how to use an AED, we are empowering the community to be prepared and able to deal with a crisis when it arises.
