What is SCA?
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is not a heart attack. SCA can be caused by abnormal heart rhythm caused by electrical misfirings of the ventricles of the heart. These misfirings and abnormal rhythms can cause the heart to stop beating. Without intervention through hands only chest compressions, the fast response of medical personnel and the immediate identification and continued use of CPR, can SCA death be averted.
Through education and training, everybody can become properly trained responder to victims of SCA.
